Village of Mohawk

Welcome to the Village of Mohawk

The Village of Mohawk rests on the southern bank of the historic Erie Canal and Mohawk River in Herkimer County at the northern border of the town of German Flatts. The village officially became known as Mohawk in 1838 and was named after the adjacent Mohawk River. Later Mohawk was incorporated on April 16, 1844.
